About THRIVE
The Arizona Museum of Natural History (AZMNH) is proud to present its latest exhibit, THRIVE–The First People: Yesterday, Today, and Forever, which opened on January 25, 2025, and will remain on display until August 17, 2025. This groundbreaking exhibit, created in collaboration with the Gila River Indian Community and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, invites visitors to explore the deep connections between the ancestral Sonoran Desert dwellers, their modern O’odham descendants, and the breathtaking landscapes they have called home for thousands of years.
Step into a world where history, culture, and nature intertwine. Through stunning archaeological artifacts, compelling ethnographic displays, interactive media, and O’odham oral histories, THRIVE offers a rich and immersive experience. Discover the enduring traditions, sustainable practices, and vibrant societies that have flourished in the Sonoran Desert—and continue to thrive today.
This exhibit is more than a display; it’s a journey that celebrates the resilience and wisdom of the O’odham people. It reflects AZMNH’s dedication to honoring native voices and perspectives, creating a powerful narrative that deepens our understanding of Arizona’s unique heritage and cultural legacy.
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with the history and beauty of the Sonoran Desert and its people. Plan your visit today and experience THRIVE before it closes on August 17, 2025!
